She went through 9 months of pain to have you.
Pregnancy isn’t easy. Nine months of morning sickness, swollen feet, and constant peeing isn’t for the faint of heart. But a mother’s love is so great that she endured all of that pain, just for you. And she would do it all over again, just to see you smile.
She listens to you whine and complain but still loves you.
From your terrible two’s to your bratty teenage years, mom is often a punching bag. She got many evil glares, yelling in her ears, and cries on her shoulder. Yet through all your misbehavior, her love never swayed.
She’s spent many hours over a hot stove just to put food in your belly.
She has made you countless amounts of school lunches, dinners, and mac and cheese for your bottomless pit stomach. Many of times she didn’t even get a ‘thank you.’ And she would do it again in a heartbeat because she loves you.
If you are sick she will drop everything to make sure you feel better.
Feeling sick is the worst but there is one medicine that always makes you feel better: mom. She would always be there to make you soup, massage your back, and tell you everything will be okay. She made having a 102 degree fever bearable.
She always calls you beautiful, even during your awkward stage.
Whether you had glasses, braces, or were just plain awkward, your mom would always be there to tell you how beautiful you were, inside and out.
She’s always there when you need a shoulder to cry on.
When a boy broke your heart or you got cut from a team, she was always there, arms wide open. It didn’t matter the situation or circumstance, she was there to provide comfort and let you cry it out.
She puts up with you and your weirdo friends.
As shocking as it may sound, your mom’s ideal day probably isn’t driving you and your friends to the mall. Yet, she spent many afternoons doing just that, being a taxi cab to you and your loud friends. And she did it all with a smile because she put your happiness before her own.
She always puts time and effort into making the holidays special for you.
Whether it be Halloween, Christmas, or Easter, Mom was always there to make your day extra special. She sewed you countless princess costumes, baked you tons of cookies, and painted many eggs to make you smile. Not to mention, all the money she spent on gifts for you, even if you had been on the naughty list.
She’s your biggest cheerleader.
Mom was always at every game, performance, or competition sitting in the front row cheering you on. Even if you did terrible, she would be there to give you a hug, and say how proud of you she was.
She loves you unconditionally.
Not a day goes by where she doesn’t show her love for you in some way. Whether it be a phone call, a hug, or a simple “I love you,” your mother will never stop showing you the many ways she cares.
