Best Reality Shows To Watch This Summer
The Local Biz Magazine

I am aware that Netflix and binge-watching have become such a big thing in today’s society. However, I still believe in the wholesome of reality television. I enjoy not just the realness of this genre, but the drama and competition that I cannot live without it. When waiting for a show, rather than keep watching every episode one after the other, reality television gives me something to wait for and to make my week a little better than it already is. I am not saying you have to watch these shows the day they come on, but recording or on demanding can also give you the thrill. If you want to join me on this old school reality television boat, read this article and to know what’s trending this summer.

1. The Challenge Rivals 3

This is the shows 24th season, and every year it just gets crazier and crazier. "The Challenge" is where people from other MTV shows such as "The Real World" and "Are You The One?" compete in intense challenges to win money. You have never seen a show as dangerous as this one, as people have to go home due to all different kinds of injuries. It not all about the competition — there are also fights and lots of drama while all these contestant live in the house with their rivals of the opposite sex.

2. Are You The One?

Finding love in this world is hard, but also getting money to find love sounds too good to be true. "Are You The One?" matches young singles who suck at love in one house to help them find someone who they are compatible with, but there is a catch. No one knows who their match is and if they want to get the money at the end, the singles have put their hearts on the line to figure out who is there perfect match really is. Let the love drama begin!

3. Coupled

"Coupled" is on its very first season and I am already hooked. "Coupled" puts eligible women onto an island to help them find the man of their dreams. How do they do this? Do any couples actually stay together? You will have to watch and see what finding love in this crazy new way does for these couples.

4. Dating Naked

You may here people talk about how this such a crazy show and why would you ever date naked? But I am in love with this show. It is just so funny and makes you so happy when watching people actually dating naked. If you are into romantic comedies this is the reality show for you.

5. Americas Got Talent

I know this show has been going on for so long, however with Simon Cowell as a new judge its better than ever. He puts excitement back into the show. Right now they are doing auditions throughout America, which I think is the best part because you can see the crazies and the amazing. A couple years ago, I actually got to go to one the auditions taping, and I can tell you this show is as real as it gets with the auditions.

6. Unreal

Not a reality show, but about one, "Unreal" gives people sort of an inside account of the manipulation being used in this genre. This scripted show is about how they change so much of their footage to make contestants look bad and good. I am not sure if I believe everything in the show, but you never know this could really be what it is like to work in the reality show business.

7. The Bachelorette

Last but not least is my favorite show of all the time "The Bachelorette." Join Bachelor Nation as we watch as bachelorette Jojo breaks men hearts, gives roses and falls in love. This is not just a show, it’s a revolution of people all over America wanting to know what happens next, and I can tell you tears have already been shed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
