5 Things You Know To Be True If You Absolutely HATE Moving Out

Packing and unpacking are two of my least favorite things.

5 Things You Know To Be True If You Absolutely HATE Moving Out

Going from place to place, house to house isn't always an easy transition. There are so many factors that go into moving that it can almost be too overwhelming. Being organized with so much stuff can easily be frustrating and too much to handle. If you're like me and getting everything organized is a top priority, you won't be able to relax until everything has found its perfect place. Sometimes you may even think that it would have been better to just suck it up and stay put. While I love organizing everything and being settled in, I just wish that I could snap my fingers and it would be done in an instant. I know that I am not the only one who feels this way. Moving isn't fun for anyone unless you're just into that, I guess.

There is stuff everywhere, and you want to give up before it's even started

Giphy

Packing up everything unveils the hiding places of the stuff you just didn't know what to do with. You end up looking at the mess and crying. Maybe you'll decide to throw it all away and get new stuff. Whatever it may be, you're just not thriving off of the mess in your house, and you're ready to be done.

Items start getting thrown into boxes in the most unorganized way

Giphy

After everything is taken out of its original space, it's time to box it. It's so tiring trying to piece everything together to make sure it's organized. Before you even realize it, all your boxes are labeled "misc."

It is hot

Giphy

We all know how miserable the heat is in the summer. It gets stuffy and sticky outside, and all you want to do is take a dip in the pool and drink a cold drink. Carrying boxes on boxes up and downstairs in this heat, on the other hand, is not what any of us find fabulous.

It's all heavy

Giphy

No one wants to make one trip just for one little box. Making every trip to the car count is an essential part of moving. So, there are so many ways this can go wrong. You are loaded down, things are getting heavy, and items are falling. Not cool.

Finding a spot for everything in your new place seems impossible

Giphy

By the time you've faced the heat and carried up all the heavy objects, unpacking it all seems nearly impossible. It's a lot, and there is a lot of space that you just have no idea what to do with.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
