Friends who talk sports always love ranking things. Whether it's the best players, the top plays, or your favorite moments in sports. It's what we as sports fans love to do. There is really no actual way you can rank players or teams because it changes all the time. This type of thing is fun to do, so in this post I'll rank the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL right now.
10) Carson Palmer
Palmer cracks the top 10 as an underrated quarterback. Palmer has been a really consistent quarterback and has helped the Arizona Cardinals become relevant after years of being a sub par team. This season alone he has thrown for seven TD passes and has thrown for nearly 500 yards. Throughout this career injuries have plagued him from being up higher up on this list, but all in all Palmer sits at #10 on my list.
9) Matt Ryan
The BC kid cracks the top 10 because he's been one of the best in the game for some time. Ryan has had success in his career making it to the NFC championship game back in 2012 after finishing with a record of 13-3. the Falcons quarterback has been one of the NFL's elite QB's since his inception in 2009. Although his temas haven't always been the best, he has been as consistent as ever personally.
8) Philip Rivers
Since Rivers took over the starting job in 2006, he has been spectacular. Rivers has lead the Chargers to an almost annual playoff berth. The Chargers QB has also held an incredible completion rating throughout his career with his career average at 64.9%. Rivers has also thrown for over 37,000 yards as a Charger.
7) Russell Wilson
Wilson has been very good since entering the league in 2012. Wilson has already been to two Super Bowls winning one against future Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning. His ability to move around in the pocket and make plays with his feet has made him an extremely versatile player. He's been able to lead a very potent Seahawks squad that may very well be one of the greatest teams in the history of the NFL.
6) Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning has had himself quite the career. Wining a Super Bowl and leading some of the best teams the league has seen. As of late I believe Manning has started to decline and he hasn't looked the same as he did a couple years ago. I believe because of this, Manning, just misses the top five in the game.
5) Andrew Luck
Andrew Luck has come in very nicely after the Peyton Manning era in Indy. The former number one overall pick has made a great name for himself in the NFL as a definite top five quarterback. Luck has made the playoffs every single year since taking the Colts starting job. His ability to run and use his feet like Russell Wilson also makes him a dynamic quarterback. Right now Luck sits at the number five spot.
4) Drew Brees
Drew Brees has made the New Orleans Saints one of the top NFC teams since he took over. He's been using his rocket arm to throw up crazy numbers in his career including tossing up over 56,000 passing yards. The Saints QB has also been a winner in just about every category including a Super Bowl. I think at times he's struggled lately and he hasn't brought his team to where they want to be and I believe that just puts him out of the top three.
3) Ben Roethlisberger
Big Ben has been quietly making himself into a top three QB in this league. Roethlisberger has thrown for over 9,000 yards the past two seasons. He has taken advantage of a really good offense in Pittsburgh that starts with star wide receiver Antonio Brown. Knowing that his recent play has been what it's been, there is no doubt that Ben Roethlisberger is a top three quarterback in this league.
2) Aaron Rodgers
Yes, I do realize that this amy come as a shock to some given what Rodgers has been able to do in recent years but he has been extremely good. He has a Super Bowl victory and has lead his team to some incredible seasons. Aaron Rodgers also has the ability to escape pressure and run with the ball which makes him elusive. There is no doubt that Rodgers is a top quarterback in this league.
1) Tom Brady
Tom Brady has built his legacy in the NFL by winning and winning big. The long time Patriots QB has four rings with one of them coming last season. He's been to the big dance a record six times and looks like he has no plans of slowing down. Through two weeks of play, Brady, has leads the league in passing yards, touchdowns, and completions. Brady is playing with some kind of fire right now and that's why he's the best QB in the league right now.
