"Once a Muskies, always a Muskie." A saying that will always mean something to me throughout the years to come.
When I was ten years old going into the fifth grade, I moved schools and began attending the East Muskingum Local School District. This was probably the biggest transition in my life at that moment. I didn't know the new faces I would encounter along with how I would feel about the new environment.
To this day, I'm thankful for the day I moved to John Glenn. I'm unbelievably proud to be labeled as a John Glenn graduate/alumnae.
East Muskingum is more than just a school district. We are all one big family and the community is so supportive. No matter what crisis anyone was currently having you knew you always had someone to rely on. The community did so many things for our school. No matter what sporting event was occurring the whole community got fired up and attended a majority of the games. They traveled as little as to their backyard all the way to The Schottenstein for the boy's state basketball game.
The Class of 2016 was a group that no other class could compare to. We were obnoxious, stubborn, and competitive but by the end of the day we were the closest class any high schools ever seen. Going to John Glenn has made me such a strong individual and has prepared me for my college years. They set the standards high for every student, and the faculty and community actually cares about every students well-being at the end of every day.
I would like to thank John Glenn high school for shaping me into the individual that I am today. There were rough patches just like any school would have, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Everyone in the community has gone through so much together and it has made us ten times stronger. John Glenn was more than just a school for me.
It was my second family.
