I'm Proud Of Being A Basic White B****

This Is Why I'm So Proud Of It.

I'm Proud Of Being A Basic White B****

We have all heard it. It is either a cocky fraternity boy or a stubborn girl saying that you, or some other undeserving female, is a “basic white bitch.” Well, guess what? I am proud of being a basic white bitch, a bwb, and this is why.

One of the factors that pinpoints you as a bwb is fawning over Starbucks. Whenever you want to hang out with a friend, you offer Starbucks as an option. You are excited to sip on that warm, tasty coffee and can’t wait to get there. Does this make you less of a woman, however? No, because there are several benefits to being passionate about Starbucks. Starbucks has both drinks and food to appease any stomach which many other coffee shops may not have. If they do, they are extremely limited unlike in Starbucks. Also, when you download the Starbucks app, you can receive a green card and a gold card for purchasing products. When you receive these cards, you will be on a path towards free drinks, free refills and free snacks whenever you venture to the cafe. If a basic white bitch means obtaining things you love for free, count me in.

Another thing a bwb loves are Uggs. No, this is not the boot itself, but simply the brand name that we get chastised for. Can we, however, think of another brand that produces boots that are extremely with the warm fur-like material inside? They can go with anything as long as you style it right. They will keep you extremely warm on Winter days when all you want to do is get a hot chocolate (at Starbucks) and read a book in your Uggs.

A movie that we would love to hand out awards to is Mean Girls. We pride ourselves on knowing some of the famous lines within this movie, or perhaps every line from certain characters. I must question, however, is this typical of a bwb or typical of a girl? Mean Girls is a true classic for any girl to enjoy. It has seven stars on IMDB, which is truly a high score for any movie to obtain, along with several awards that it has won from different associations. This includes MTV Movie Awards, the Teen Choice Awards and much more. Even if you’re not a teen, any young adult will be happy when a friend offers to watch Mean Girls together on a cozy night in.

We take selfies a lot. Maybe some would deem it as more than necessary, but do we truly care about other peoples opinions? No. As Demi Lovato sang, “what’s wrong with being confident?” We don’t take the selfies just because we want to prove to our crush how hot we are or do it to belittle an enemy, we do it because we feel good that day. We want to take a picture, when there is no cameraman present, of a day when we feel so good to be ourselves. We want to document this. So if you see a selfie on Instagram from a bwb and say, “Wow, a selfie again?!” i’m sorry to inform you that we don’t need your opinion in order to feel amazing.

Although these are only four ways someone would define a bwb, they are four important ones with reasoning behind them that most people would not consider thinking of. So, yes. I am a basic white bitch. And no. I will not let you make me feel bad about it.
