As finals wrap up and we're all looking forward to the glorious holiday season, most of us are planning our trips back to our hometowns for the 3-6 weeks we get off from school. While being home can be a refreshing and magical much-needed break from our college friends and schoolwork, there are a lot of aspects of going home that make the break a little anxiety provoking. For those of you who spend the holiday vacation back in your hometown glory living in your childhood bedroom, here's a very relateable list of the pros and cons of being home over winter break.
Pro: Eating real food
Goodbye for six amazing weeks, dining hall garbage.
Con: Having to put planning into meals
No more wandering into a building and choosing from a variety of ready to eat food options.
Pro: Seeing all of your best friends from high school
For the three to six people you actually still talk to.
Con: Seeing everyone you never talked to after graduation
Literally having to avoid your favorite delis in fear of the, "so how's school?" convo.
Pro: Getting to spend time with your family
When you actually start missing your mom's nagging.
Con: Spending far too much time with your family
Pro: The much needed cleanse from college life.
Con: When you start to miss all those regretful nights
Pro: Six weeks of having your own room
Con: Missing living in a house with 40 of your best friends
Where you at roomie?
Winter break is a much needed time of rehabilitation from crazy college life. You'll tell yourself that next term is going to be different and you're going to be more "responsible" but who are you kidding- let's do it again.
