I face the same problems that every other girls do. You're constantly told that you're not good enough. Not pretty enough. Not smart enough. We all know I could go on for a long time with this. Well, I'm here to tell you the opposite of that.
You are enough. You are smart enough. You are pretty enough. I understand that people can always find things to point out that make you "not pretty." News flash: their opinions don't matter. It took me a long time to realize this and it's time for you to do the same.
Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Cliché I know. It might be overused but it is very true. It took me a long time to learn this lesson. I have always compared myself to others. I still struggle with my self esteem but I'm getting there. Now it's your turn. Go look in the mirror. See that? You're gorgeous. Even your flaws make you beautiful. No one is magazine perfect. Let's be honest, even the girls in the magazine aren't magazine perfect. Photoshop can do some amazing things.
I'm sure you have been turned down by people before because your weren't pretty enough. Unfortunately it happens all the time. Here's a tip, they weren't right for you. The person you are meant to be with will think you are the most beautiful person alive. Don't settle for anyone that doesn't because you deserve the world.
I took a sociology class this past semester at school and learned a lot about social constructs. Beauty itself is a social construct. Society has decided what counts as beautiful and it changes all the time. Don't give in to societies opinions. Form your own. Decide for yourself what makes people beautiful. Maybe it's just having a nice smile or maybe it has nothing to do with looks. Either way, you are allowed to have a different opinion. Be your own person. Rock your beauty. Flaunt your curves. Show off what you love about yourself. Keep it classy and everyone will notice your confidence.
Don't let anyone hold you back when it comes to being confident. If they are that low of a person, you don't need them in your life. Only keep people around that build you up. True friends will always remind you how gorgeous you are. Even when you don't feel it they will be there to build you back up. I know it's hard to have killer confidence and to find yourself pretty. If I knew of a way to make it easier, I would happily tell you.
What I can tell you is this, you are enough. You have always been enough. You have always been beautiful. Even back in middle school when you went through your awkward phase, you were beautiful. Do me a favor if you currently hate your appearance. Go do your hair and makeup. Put on your favorite outfit that you feel confident in. Go out with your friends. Take selfies and group pictures. Have fun. Then the next day I want you to look back at those pictures and see just how beautiful you really are. Rock your beauty and never let anyone take the confidence away from you.
