In this day in age, as well as many previous generations, there are many struggles that we face. You can let them bring you down or use them as a driving force to push you forward in life. I've always remembered the saying my mom always told me, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." I am a firm believer in this saying as I've had many ups and downs on this roller coaster we call life.
One thing that has always helped me is my ability to stay positive. Obstacles we may face are endless and it is up to us to figure out how to handle them. The way you think about a certain situation, either positive or negative, will ultimately decide whether the turnout of it will be good or bad. I've learned from my father that your thoughts are very powerful. For example, let's say you want to start a restaurant, as my father and grandparents did. You could be negative and think "This will be so hard, what if it fails? What if we go out of business?" and things will more than likely end up that way. Relatively, if you think and believe everything will turn out good it will also more than likely end up they way you think.
Being positive is more than just this, you have to genuinely believe it. It really does go a long way, I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for positivity and using my thoughts to my advantage. Our mind is a very powerful thing and technically it is all we have, we either use it or lose it.
When you feel yourself beginning to lose hope in something and feel the negativity start taking over, remember who you are. You are more than the words people may call you. You are more than the grades that are "attached" to you. You are more than the decisions made in the past. And you are worth more than any amount of money.
So just know that the things you think/say will get you where you want to go in life. We are all more than capable of pursuing what makes us happy and also defines who we are. Whether it's Technology, Medicine, Performing arts, Education, etc. Positivity does go a long way.
