Places That Feed The Soul

I love food! Food is absolutely amazing. It feeds your stomach and your soul. I am a firm believer that the quickest way to a person's heart is through their stomach! I love talking about food, reading about food, and eating food! Since I am usually in the Fargo/Moorhead area, I thought I'd give you some of my favorite places to eat food in the Midwest!

1. Lucy's North China Cuisine

This is Lucy, the restaurant owner! If you want some amazing Chinese food that comes to your table within ten minutes, this is the place to be! Even their take-out is amazing!

2. Nichole's Fine Pastry

I love taking friends and family here for desserts! My favorite is the Chocolate Feuilletine tower. YUM!

3. Sandy's Donuts & Coffee Shop

Sandy's has delicious donuts with even greater service! Everyone here is super helpful when you can't decide what to get! I reccomend the Bavarian cream donut!

4. Thai Orchid

Don't be fooled by its outside appearance. Among the many incredible dishes, the pad thai is my number one here! The cream cheese wontons are stellar too!

5. Sazerac Alley

Fairly new to the Fargo/Moorhead area, Sazerac Alley serves a diverse Southern menu that is sure to rock your socks off!

6. Granite City Food & Brewery

A classic restaurant. Granite City serves some of the best French onion soup out here, hands down!

7. Lucky's 13 Pub

Some of the best burgers ever! You can't go wrong with a Juicy Lucy here!

8. Wurst Bier Hall

Not your average German beer hall! Check it out!

9. Hotel Donaldson

The HoDo lounge, bar, and hotel is so fancy, yet so marvelous! The food is prepared using locally-grown produce and livestock!

10. JL Beers

This place also has crazy good burgers! And beer of course!

11. The Boiler Room

This jazzy underground establishment is definitely one to put on your summer to-do list.

12. Rosey's

This once pop-up bistro, specializing in grilled cheese, is becoming a permanent restaurant here in Fargo!

13. Smash Burger

I suppose it's considered fast food, but it's freaking delicious (order the rosemary fries)! Plus, you can order beer and Haagen-Dasz ice cream!

14. Old Broadway

I would compare this place to a mullet. Casual during the day, party during the night!

15. Smiling Moose Deli

Super fresh place to go for wraps and sandwiches!

16. Café Aladdin

Traditional Greek and Middle Eastern food, and the best gyros (shawarma) in town, I swear!

17. Scratch Sandwich & Deli Co

Yet another sweet place to grab a sandwich! It's all made from scratch, too!

18. Mehl's Gluten Free Bakery & Deli

First timers get a free cookie! This place makes the best gluten-free products you can imagine! You can even buy mixes to make at home!

19. Drunken Noodle

Great pasta place that doubles as a sushi bar in the back!

These are just some of the great places to check out in the Fargo/Moorhead area! I hope I enticed you enough! Why don't you head on over and try something new today? I'll see you there! Happy eating!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
