As the title suggests, pick a resolution from the list and commit to it. Lord knows we deserve a nice 2017 after what 2016 brought us.

1. Get in shape.

2. Eat healthy.

3. Start volunteering.

4. Stop procrastinating.

5. Change your wardrobe.

6. Get a new job.

7. Meet new people.

8. Adopt a pet.

9. Start saving money.

10. Pick up a new hobby.

11. Start writing a book

12. Plan a trip abroad.

13. Start a relationship.

14. Go back to school.

15. Make your hobby a career.

16. Reconnect with family.

17. Read more.

18. Spend more time with nature.

19. Build your confidence.

20. Start meditating.

21. End toxic relationships.

22. Learn a new skill (cooking, blogging, etc.).

23. Spend more time with friends.

24. Be kinder to others.

25. Adopt a child.

26. Start writing in a journal.

27. Donate to a charity.

28. Buy tickets to see your favorite artist in concert.

29. Watch less TV.

30. Enjoy the little things in life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
