If You're Still Trying to Pick a 2016 Halloween Costume...

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Who doesn’t enjoy welcoming fall with crazy parties, fun costumes, and spooky decorations? Every year, there are a wide variety of costumes. 2016 has been a crazy year, so naturally, a vast majority of Halloween costumes are going to be reflecting that chaotic nature.

Here are the 6 of the biggest categories for Halloween costumes for 2016:

1. With the election just around the corner, political costumes are going to be extremely popular this Halloween.

If you are really into politics, I say go for the Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump Costumes. My only word of advice would be to prepare yourself for all of the heated debates that follow your conversation-starting-costume. In addition to the politicians themselves making easy targets for Halloween costumes, you could always be Ken Bone. I’m sure you will see a few others walking out and about at every destination you go.

2. Currents events can sometimes make great costumes.

If politics aren’t really your thing, you could choose a controversial costume in the realm of current events that made some serious headlines. Yeah, I’m talking about Harambe. You better get that gorilla costume asap, because they’re going to go quick. While you’re at it you might as well grab your bff a zoo keeper costume.

3. If you have some makeup skills, then the sky is the limit.

On a normal day, doing your contour darker than a drag queen’s, making your smoky eye resemble a panda, or making your wings go out further than Cleopatra’s could be detrimental. However, on Halloween there are no rules. So it’s the perfect opportunity to put your skills to the test. If you aren’t being a zombie or monster with special effects makeup, you could do something that could make you look cute like a sugar skull. Another popular Halloween costume for this year will be the Snapchat filters so you could always model those with makeup.

4. For the entertainment junkie, you could be your favorite TV, book, or movie characters.

If any of those touchy-subject costumes freak you out and makeup is not your forte, you could always play it safe. There are have been a fair amount of good movies and TV shows this year. You could always be someone from Ghost Busters, Suicide Squad, Finding Dory, or any of your other favorite movies from this year. In addition, there are plenty of popular TV series such as Stranger Things, Making a Murderer, Narcos, or any old TV series like Grey’s Anatomy.

5. If you're really into all of the hottest Hollywood gossip, you could dress up as an iconic celebrity.

The Kardashians, for example, can usually be identified pretty easily. You can think about celebrity events as well. Kim and Kanye just got robbed, so if a group of three of you want to push some borders then you could have Kimye plus someone dressed as a robber.

6. You could always just stick to a classic costume.

You could Mean Girl it and put on a sexy animal costume, you could be a Devil and your friend could be an angel, you could be a police officer, or any other typical Halloween costume. You just have to come to terms with the fact that you are a little basic and people will probably call you out on it. Just own it.

7. Last but not least: I swear if I see someone dressed as a God-forsaken clown on Halloween, you will see me booking it in the opposite direction.

I don’t care if you’re in my statistics class, if we had English together last semester, whatever- I’m gone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
