Deep dish, deep dish only.

1.You're still finding glitter from Lollapalooza.

Typically the first weekend of August, Lolla will bring out the young and young-hearted alike to dance, sing, and sweat like no other. As a "one last hurrah" of summer for many, Lolla proves to be be one of the most draining yet fun-filled experiences that you are sure to attend.

2.You take major pride in your sports teams.

There is a certain enthusiasm at Chicago sporting events that is incomparable and indescribable. From getting chills as Jim Cornelison sings "The Star-Spangled Banner" to seeing the madness unfold as the Cubs won their first world Series in 107 years since their previous one, Chicago proves to being a sport lover's dream. And although the Bears are often unbearable to watch, we still love them anyway.

3. You'll never turn down the offer to go to Portillos.

Dick Portillo, marry me. Ask anyone from the Chicagoland area about Portillo's, and they'll go on a thirty minute conversation about the absolute genius idea of making shakes with chocolate cake at the bottom. Or how chopped salads can be so delicious. Or that they wish the had their cheese fries in tow. There's no wonder that people are willing to pay nearly $60 to ship a coveted chocolate cake anywhere in the United States.

4. Or have some deep-dish pizza.

Giordano's, Gino's East, and Lou Malnati's deep-dish pizza still leave me drooling when I'm dreaming at night. I'm not kidding you when I say that Chicago deep-dish pizza is unlike any other.

As the creator of his non-for-profit SocialWorks, which encourages the youth to find their inner strength through the arts, Chance wants to closely work with fellow Chicagoans and create positive change.

6. You'll find out that you have an accent.

As a college student on the East Coast, I have been told time and time again that the sound of my A's bring about quite the pronunciation. Yes, I do in fact need to call my MAAAAHM and want a glass of WAHHHHTER with that.

7. You'll always call the area home.

Whether you're from two hours away, live in Wicker park directly, or somewhere in between, you'll always call the Chicagoland area your home. I cannot tell you enough how beautiful you are, Chi-town.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
