You have changed. You are not who you used to be. Some say they like you better, but for those of us who truly know you know you are not the same. You are not the same person who would sit on my doorstep wondering what you could do to make my sister’s day, you are not the same person who would call me to surprise your friends, and you are not the awkward 15-year-old with braces and the bad haircut nervous to make a move.

One song, one song that is all it took for your best friend of seven years to get to your house to see you. Every day, for seven years, he gave his all to you and now there is nothing given in return.

You planned your life with these two. For better, and for worse, where did that all go?

You are not the boy who goes out to parties every night, you are not the boy who struggles with his school work. You are not the boy who cheats and lies and says he is something you are not, but that is who you wanted to be, so finally, you are.

One decision, a thousand miles away from your other half is all it took to change our lives forever. The brokenness that had to be recovered, the tears that had to be wiped away, the hugs, the kisses, the worrying; one decision that is all it took.

A year later you try to resurface your better halves. Those who brought out the best in you, those who see your highest potential, those who are willing to save you, but why? Why now? Why not then…?

The hurt I have witnessed, the pieces that are still not glued, the genuine love that is felt for you is not enough, and it will never be enough, at least not for you.

The change that has occurred in you is one that cannot be changed, at least not by us, not by the people who actually care.

You are everything now that you have ever wanted to be, everything in your life seems to be going wonderfully. Yet you are missing out on those who truly care, I promise you that.

We will always care, your two best friends and I. But we cannot stand by and put you back together when you want to be unknowingly broken because you are living the “life.”

I am not writing this to bash you by any means, you will always have that part in my heart as well. But I hope you read this and you recognize what you have done. I hope you read this and you realize the hurt you have caused. But most importantly, I hope you read this and I hope you reflect. I hope you reflect on who you have become, who you were, and who you have ever wanted to be. There are people who are silently rooting for you, but you prove them wrong every single time.

Currently and forever we are mourning the loss of someone who no longer exists. The brightness in your heart, the love in your mind I know it is still there I am just hoping you dig deep and you search for it, I hope you find it and resurface it.

As for now, good luck on your adventures because to be honest you are going to need it. We miss you and we love you in all the same ways, in all the very best ways, forever, but sometimes you are not so deserving to know that. So I hope you look back and you see the bridges that have been burned and the damage that has been done and you do your best to make amends. Although like crumpled paper, crumpled people with never be fully crisped again. But you were a lesson, you were a teacher, and although none of us want to admit it you have taught us something greater than we could ever imagine. Love will always prevail in the end.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
