An Open Letter To My Little Brother
Odyssey

Dear Little Brother,

I am thankful for you. You may not understand anything I say to you, and maybe you do. I am grateful for the little kisses you give and even the snot kisses. Without those I would not be able to start my day right. All those bruises I get from you throwing toys are worth it. I may dislike you sometimes, especially when you have a poopy diaper or when you are screaming at the top of your lungs, but I would not trade you for anything in the entire world.

You make everyone smile and laugh. You are the joy that fills everyone's heart. I have watched you grow up and start crawling, walking, and talking, and it has been a grand journey that I am glad I got to go on. Now you are getting older and starting to say cuss words and call me sissy, and those words coming out of your mouth make me smile.

The days that I am so stressed out, I love to come home to you and play with your toys. I know you love playing with your toys, and I am happy when you want me to play along. I am happy when you give me hugs. I am happy when you give me kisses or wave goodbye. I happy when you are simply around. I am happy when your laugh fills the house, and I am even happy when you cry because you are at home.

I miss you little brother, and I hope you come home soon because home is not like it used to be when you were around. I miss playing with toys and changing your poopy diapers, and I miss seeing you splash and laugh in the bath. I miss you baby brother, and everyone wants you to come home. You are the best thing to happen to are family and I want you back.

I am thankful for your existence, and I would not make my life any different. You mean the world to everyone around you, and everyone loves seeing you happy and laugh. You are a blessing, and I cannot wait for you to come home and give me a big hug.

Love,

Your Big Sister

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
