With over 6 billion people on this planet, we are bound to meet countless different personalities in our lifetime. There will be people who make us cry and people who make us laugh. There will be people who irritate us the moment they speak and people who we could listen to for hours. There will be people who make us so angry we want to scream (sometimes we actually do) and people who calm us down when our world is tumbling out of control. We will meet so many people in our lifetime that it is impossible to remember every single one of them. But sometimes, there is that one friend who sticks out and is such a blessing that we can never forget them.
This is a letter to my blessing who I don't deserve.
I try to be the best person that I can. But sometimes, I'm not kind enough, I'm not motivated enough and I'm not compassionate enough.
You are something else. You are always kind, always motivated and always compassionate. Sure, you probably have your rough days. But when you are struggling, you still love others. You still love me. And for that, I want to say thank you.
Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for letting me tell you all my secrets. Thank you for accepting me for who I am. Overall, thank you for being you and letting me be me.
Throughout our friendship, we have both changed a lot. We have found ourselves, lost ourselves and found ourselves again. A lot of bad stuff has happened but so has a lot of good stuff. Through it all, we have had each other. You were there for me when I felt like I had no one else. And you were there for me when I didn't realize how lucky I was to have you. I haven't always been the best friend you deserve, but you still stick around. For that, I am grateful.
You always bring out the best in me. I know that when I'm with you, I'm going to witness overwhelming kindness. When we go to eat, you tip the waitress $20 on a $5 tab because you can tell she's having a hard day. When I want to get the appetizer but have no money, you pay for it without a second thought. But when we go to the store and you see something you like, you hesitate. You think about all the other ways that money could be used for your family or friends. You put everyone else before you.
If everyone had your heart, the world would be a better place. My world is already a better place because I have you in it. So I want to say thank you again. For being my light when my world seems to be nothing but darkness. No matter where this life takes me, I always want you by my side. Because even though I don't deserve you, you love me anyway
