Dear Anxious Self,
How are you doing? Are you hanging in there? Yes, I know having anxiety can be tough, but remember this, you do not have to fight this alone. You have so many supporters in your friends and family that having anxiety doesn't have to be a bad thing.
Anxiety is not easy to deal with on a daily basis. You have the stress of school. I mean you take so many classes and have so much work to complete in a short amount of time. How you succeed and get good grades under so much pressure is beyond me, but still, a lot of classes can be stressful. I know you want to get good grades all the time. I know you hate to fail, but life can't be perfect all the time. We make mistakes and we learn from them. It may not be easy to handle now, but trust me, in the end, failure is not the end of the world. If you work hard and put effort into your work, then you will succeed. Anxiety is an obstacle that you will overcome during school and in life.
I remember how hard it was to deal with that anxiety attack moments before performing a concert a while ago. Your mind was all over the place and your emotions were scattered. You were short of breath and were crying like crazy. But you had people there to calm you down and to tell you that everything will be OK. I know what you're going to say: "No, it won't be OK." or "How can you be so sure?" Being positive is key to having a happy life and to getting through your anxiety. You will be OK, and last time I checked you perform your music so well. You got through your anxiety and did well that night. It's a sign that your can get through this.
You have a life at home that may give you a hard time every now and again. Your parents may put pressure on you to do well in school just like both your siblings. They may bother you to help out with chores and to go food shopping on a constant basis. There are times where your family will want to make you pull your hair out, but they will be there for you and will always love you no matter what you're going through.
Having a social life along with school and work can be a struggle. But you will always have your friends to talk to and to be with in case you're having problems when dealing with your anxiety. You do not have to go through this alone. Your friends will always be there for you through the good and the bad. There are counselors who can help you out as well. You could even talk to your professors about what you're going through. You do not have to suffer by yourself. Sometimes, all you need to do is relax and take a few deep breaths. That can make all the difference in relieving your anxiety.
In fact, you are not the only one who has anxiety. A lot of people worldwide suffer from anxiety and could have similar issues to what you have. Even a few of your friends have anxiety. They all know how you feel and what you're going through. You will not, I repeat, you will not go through this by yourself. It may be an uphill battle, but it's a battle that you will win.
You will get through this. You can cope with your anxiety and get through life with anxiety just fine. And I know that you will be OK. Anxiety doesn't have to be a bad thing at all. It can be a use of motivation to get things done and to succeed.
Take care my friend. And do not forget to relax, take it easy, and most importantly, breathe.
Love,
Me
