Bostonians are especially proud of their heritage. It's common knowledge. Here's a list of songs every Bostonian knows and loves.

1. Cheers Theme Song

Whether you're a fan of the show or just someone who knows their New England media, the theme song of this Boston-set show is sure to strike a chord. (And if you grew up here, you'll remember visiting the spot of the Cheers bar on many a class field trip.)

2. Massachusetts - Ylvis

Sure, it's a parody, but you're hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't like this hilarious song. It gets all the facts and hits the stereotypes. After all, MA is the 14th biggest state...

3. 1812 Overture - Tchaikovsky, the Boston Pops

Every year, either at the Shell or at home on TV, everyone loves the Boston Pops 4th of July special. Fireworks included.

4. So Good "The Boston Song" - Sneed & Nicholson

Whether you've heard it on countless commercials or actually celebrating the capitol of Massachusetts, this song is always a great reminder of Boston pride. My destination? Newbury Street.

5. Dirty Water - The Standells

"Boston, you're my home!" What else is there to say? Although the water isn't so dirty anymore, everyone's proud of the song.

6. I'm Shipping Up To Boston - The Dropkick Murphys

You're guaranteed to hear this at least once a day on any sports channel in MA. The mix of rock and Irish melodies are guaranteed to take you back to Southie.

And of course, the favorite song on every list of Boston pride...

7. Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond

At every seventh inning stretch at every Red Sox game, everyone who knows their heritage knows to shout along. Even if you've never been to a game at Fenway, you've heard it thousands of times and it always makes you smile. "Bum bum bum..."
