Mothers are the best! Even before we were born, they already started to take amazing care of each and every one of us. And starting from the first second we entered this world, they have been there by our sides. When we were still little, we just wanted to cling onto our mothers because they made us feel safe. We would love them deeply because in our eyes, they were perfect. They made us feel loved and cared for. As we enter our middle school and high school years, many of us begin to notice how different we are from our mothers. We begin to argue with them, because they no longer are right all the time. We get annoyed when they tell us to be safe or repeatedly remind us of the same thing, because we no longer feel the need to be taken cared of by her. since we are able to fend for ourselves.
But throughout our transition from a baby to a young adult, one person remains to be the same: our mother. It is we who change, not them. No matter how rude we are to them, the mistakes we have made, the sadness we brought to them, our mothers still remain by our sides and love us unconditionally. Meanwhile, some of us can admit that we have had moments where we have thought or even said out loud how annoying our mothers can be or how we dislike them because they do not understand us. Unfortunately, some of us have even said those hurtful words to our mothers directly. But whenever we face difficult obstacles or grievances in life, most of us just want to talk to our mothers for comfort and to be held in their arms.
Growing up, some of us have forgotten how important our mothers are in our lives. We get busy with school and work. We develop beliefs which might be different from our mothers', but that does not mean we have to forget that these ladies have gone through sweat, tears, and hard work to raise us. We are where we are today is through the help of our mothers. We are who we are today because our personality and beliefs are somewhat influenced by our mothers.
We do not need to be thankful for our mothers on just Mother's Day, but every day. In this world, we are fortunate to have some friends that we can share struggles with, and a significant other to share our lives with, but during times when we need someone to be there for us, some of these people might not be there. One person for sure will be, and that is our mother. No matter how busy they are or how far they are, they do not think twice about being next to you when you need them to be. Therefore, show them appreciation and love by giving them a short visit, sending them a quick text or letter, or giving them a small phone call. Without them, none of us will be existing today, so let them know how important they are in your life.
