What is your New Year's resolution? It is a common tradition in the United States to come up with a resolution for the upcoming year. Normally, the resolutions are to eat healthier, exercise more, or just overall try to live a better life. We always here "new year, new me" or something along those lines. People try to stick to those resolutions but usually end of throwing them aside by the end of January, those who are good, stick to them until February. Need less to say, resolutions aren't very permanent.
2018, was the year of personal growth and bettering yourself. Did that necessarily happen? No. 2018, was a rough year for many people and many difficult and bad things happened, but 2019 is going to be the year for actually sticking to resolutions and the year for focusing on yourself.
This year, your resolution should be to really focus on yourself. I don't mean to just do the usual such as exercise and eating healthy. I mean mentally better yourself. Cut off the toxic in your life. Those people add more stress to your life than take away the stress. Cut off the toxic habits. Cut off saying sorry for everything even if it isn't your fault. Cut off the hatred of yourself. You are amazing and beautiful and deserve all the love in the world. Stop hating on yourself for the things you cannot control and things that you have done. You must in general just let go of the things that are holding you back from fully reaching 2019 on a clean slate.
Another resolution that you should have, is to go and do things that are outside of your comfort zone. If you are scared of going out then go out and meet people. Go to bars, clubs or just out to other social gatherings such as the the movies. Just put yourself out there to meet new people and to get out. If you are afraid to go on a date or watch scary movies, do them. If they go horribly wrong, then at least you know.
Another resolution is to be true to yourself. No matter how hard it may be and no matter how hurtful, you must be true to yourself. You must be honest with yourself. Know your worth and know what you deserve. What you deserve is the the truth. Being true to yourself is knowing when something is not good for you and you make sure that it is no longer in your life. Being true to yourself is knowing when you are not okay and taking care of yourself when you feel that way. Being true to yourself is taking care of yourself not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally.
This year, 2019, is the year for you and everyone to finally realize how amazing you are. You deserve the world and deserve to find the best form of you. This is your year. Make sure to follow all of these resolutions through to the end of the year, this will be the best year yet.
