It is common in the world today to talk about rights. People talk about rights today as if they are entitled. The international community talks about human rights to a clean environment, quality health, quality education, quality education, and such. The US Government spends tax dollars on all of these entitlement programs for poor and/or needy people as if we have human rights.
What happened to human dignity? What happened to the proposition all are created equal by a Creator? What happened to our God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? What happened to love for one another?
If I could be clear, I mean liberty to live free of harm, injury, and bullying from others. I mean protection of external and internal private property from intrusion, seizure and/or destruction. I am talking about the freedom to live, dream, and achieve. I am talking about the freedom to be human, unique and authentic.
Let’s stop talking about human rights! Let’s stop acting like we matter more than others, and only we have rights. Let’s eliminate all of the government entitlements! Let’s put the UN Declaration of Human Rights through the shredder!
We need to emphasize human dignity more. We need to love and care about others more. We should give a greater measure of humanity and dignity to our fellow human-beings. We should have a spirit of friendship to all other people who we meet.
Let’s have civility! Let’s have love! Let’s have peace among each other! Let’s have compassion for one another! Shouldn't we be more ready to take a hand in friendship, embrace and lift others than we are to hit, push, shove, reject, exclude, bully or gossip?
