Wade Baldwin IV (Memphis Grizzlies – Vanderbilt)
Baldwin joins the Grizzlies out of Vanderbilt. Extreme athleticism, a smooth jumper, and defensive prowess support teammate Zach Randolph’s claims that Baldwin is “Young Westbrook.” Wade will develop under one of the league’s best point guards and split minutes at the 2 spot, perhaps in route to becoming a darkhorse Rookie of the Year candidate.
Kris Dunn (Minnesota Timberwolves – Providence)
Dunn joins the Timberwolves with high potential at the point guard spot. Currently, he backs up Ricky Rubio, but it is a strong possibility that Rubio will be traded this year, leaving the starting job for Kris Dunn.
Thon Maker (Milwaukee Bucks)
Maker is arguably the highest potential player in the 2016 NBA Draft. Standing over 7 feet tall, he has the tools to become one of the most versatile players in the league. Milwaukee has been successful in drafting high potential players in the past (The Greek Freak), so I expect Maker to adjust to the league quickly.
Denzel Valentine (Chicago Bulls – Michigan State)
Denzel joins the Chicago Bulls this season and will have the opportunity to learn from one of the greatest shooting guards of all time, Dwyane Wade. Valentine’s game is strong across the boards, and it will be a matter of time until he makes a significant impact in the league.
Caris LeVert (Brooklyn Nets – Michigan)
The University of Michigan product joins a dilapidated Brooklyn squad in need of young talent. LaVert should jump into action and be an instant asset to the team, due to his athleticism, shooting ability, and scorer’s mentality.
Deyonta Davis (Memphis Grizzlies – Michigan State)
Davis was projected to be a lottery pick in this year’s draft. However, on draft night he fell into the second round. Memphis jumped at their opportunity and drafted the agile big man. He provides a smooth jumper, lockdown defense, and insane athleticism. Remember the last time a Michigan State player fell to the second round? (Draymond Green, All Star PF for Golden State)
Patrick McCaw (Golden State Warriors – UNLV)
Golden State swiped McCaw in the second round. McCaw is arguably the best “Three and D” prospect in the draft, so it makes perfect sense for the Dubs to take a chance with him. Summer camp and pre-season games yielded a strong outlook for McCaw’s future in the NBA.
