This summer I raised money to go on a six-week trip to China, where I took Chinese classes five days a week. At Suzhou University, I submerged myself in the culture and formed new relationships. By talking with Chinese college students, I learned about their different beliefs and how they came to their beliefs. Almost 99% of the time their ideas are deeply rooted through the government education. However, most students admit that they look up to America as a more modern and free country, although they will never say that they do not like Chinese politics. I am passionate about government allowing their citizens to form their own personal beliefs. In writing for the Odyssey, I hope that I can discuss my international experience and use it as a platform to expose any type of social injustice that exists either domestically or internationally.
