One thing that all humans have in common is anxiety. Having anxiety is not a bad thing either, but rather us showing that we are strong enough to show our emotions and allow ourselves to be vulnerable. You have probably heard someone say, "Oh! That gives me so much anxiety," when it seems like something so small to you. Anxiety comes in all shapes and sizes and different individuals handle it differently. Some cases may be so extreme that it may need attention from a doctor.

Where can anxiety come from? Fear, worrying, stress. We get it from large crowds or having to present something that we are afraid of presenting. Sometimes I have anxiety from being sick. Today, I was having a mid-day crisis and there was so much anxiety that was behind the situation. What did I do? I prayed about the situation and then I did a peel off facial mask. You are probably wondering why I mentioned the peel off part. First off, facial masks calm me down and there is just something about them that is so relaxing. Here is where the "peeling off" comes in. Once the twenty minutes are up, I look in the mirror and I think about what was causing the anxiety in the first place and I start peeling the mask off as if I was pulling the anxiety off.

Other people deal with anxiety by pouring their soul into something that inspires them. Another way that I cope with anxiety is writing poems. I have this little black journal that my thoughts are turned into poetry. I am hoping to get my entire journal published one day. Writing helps me turn emotions and feelings that I did not think I had into words. If you personally know me, then you know that I never talk aloud about my feelings because it is something that is hard for me to do.

Some people go for a run or go to the gym. I personally do not go to the gym when I have anxiety because I do not want to overdue my body. I have a friend that goes to the gym and she runs laps until she cannot even remember what she was feeling anxious about. Let's just say that she is in really great shape, not from having anxiety all the time, but that she just loves the gym in general.

Anxiety comes in different forms for everyone and everyone has different ways of getting along with anxiety, but the most important way is to hand it over to God. Why? Because He created you and He knows YOU better than you know yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
