My Top 11 Favorite Video Games Ever

Growing up I played a lot of video games, and I mean a lot. I played all different types of games on all different types of platforms. Even though I don't play them nearly as much as I once did, still love them all the same. Here is a list of my top 11 favorite video games of all time.

11. Kirby and The Amazing Mirror

This game had everything. I think my favorite part about this game was the different realms and locations you could be in. It was like you were playing different games all in one, and not to mention he is the most adorable but ferocious video game character ever.

10. Pokemon

This spot is occupied by all the colors because let's be honest here, you can't just picked one.

9. Sonic the Hedgehog

Sega Genesis is probably my favorite game system that I have played on. With that being said, Sonic the Hedgehog was an absolute classic especially on that platform. It was such a simple concept but it made for a very fun game.

8. Yu-Gi-Oh the Eternal Duelist Soul

Yu-Gi-Oh was one of my favorite shows as a little kid which made this particular game one of my favorites. The cards and other duelists in this game were the ones featured in my favorite seasons of the show which is why out of all the other Yu-Gi-Oh games, this is my favorite.

7. Star Wars Battlefront I and II

Both games are in a dead tie with each other. You can make a very strong argument for either being the best but regardless there is no denying that these are some of the best Star Wars games. All of the maps and characters are on point.

6. Skate

The craziest thing about Skate was the way it revolutionized how people played skateboarding games by using the analog stick to control everything. Tony Hawk games were exceptionally fun but the realistic aspect that Skate had is what makes it so memorable.

5. Star Wars: Republic Commando

The Battlefront games were good. Real good. But when it comes to Star Wars games Republic Commando holds the top spot. The game's campaign is so well written and the connection you develop with the members of your squad like a brotherhood is what made this game so special.

4. Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup

This game is highly underrated and unheard of in my opinion. As a self proclaimed Potterhead and sports fanatic it would make sense that the sporting event of the wizarding world make for one of my favorite video games.

3. NHLPA Hockey ‘93

As one of the first hockey video games, NHLPA Hockey '93 was unique. The thing that made it so unique was the fact that team names were not allowed to be used in game. Instead of it saying the team name it would only have the city and none of the jerseys had logos nor did the players have their full names. This game is better than the current NHL video games because of its simplicity and it is simply a classic.

2. Mario Kart

Many will read this article and scream blasphemy because this isn't in the number one spot. No matter what platform you play this on whether that would be the Nintendo 64 or the Wii, the competitiveness that comes with this is like nothing else. There is so much strategy and skill that goes into this game and going head to head against your friends made for some the best nights.

1. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

This is an indisputable #1 pick for me. I played this game more than any of the other games combined. The campaign was perfectly written and the online play was even better. This is easily the best game in the franchise as well as the most entertaining and overall complete game ever which is why it holds that #1 spot.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
