You never thought yesterday would be the last goodbye,

You never thought they'd be gone in a blink of an eye,

Tomorrow is not promised as I'm sure you all know,

And it's never easy to watch the ones you love go,

Never forget their smile and the conversations you both had,

Never forget the memories, cherish the good and the bad,

You never know God's timing and when He'll take your loved ones away,

So tell the people you love how much they mean to you every day,

It's always unreal at first, and you don't believe they're gone forever,

You try to sleep and you pray tomorrow will be better,

You begin to cry and question God as you lay in bed,

Then you think of all the things that you left unsaid,

You start to look at pictures and remember what happened on that day,

Then you start to look at how life is different now that they're away,

You remember how they laughed, then you remember the things they liked,

And the more you reminisce the more you realize you're not alright,

I know as you listen to this, someone you've lost came to mind,

Or someone you miss from your past that you've left behind,

Send a prayer up to the ones you love, send a text to the ones you miss,

Done leave words unsaid, I challenge you all to this,

It never gets easier, but I promise you get stronger,

I know they're constantly on your mind and the days feel longer,

Never forget the people around you that love you more than you believe,

And although you may be strong and prideful, those are the people you NEED,

So don't take them for granted because like I said before,
