Let me start off by saying thank you. Thank you for making him who he is, for teaching him how to be a man, what compassion is and how to treat a woman. Without you and everything you did, I wouldn't be in this position or where I am today without him, therefore I wouldn't be here without you.
People say that a bond between a mother and a son is irreplaceable and let me tell you I can see it in his eyes. I can see it in the way her treats you and loves you. I can see it in how he kisses your cheek and tells you he loves you before we leave. I can see it in how even if your mad at one another you still hug and make it a point to work it out. I can see it in the way that he lights up when telling stories from being a kid about "Me and My Mom."
It's also known that how a man treats his mother says a lot about how he will treat you. Through it all I know he would never trade anyone for you. He would never substitute one minute with a different mom. You helped form him into who and what he is today. He is grateful. He treats you with respect, like an equal. He shows you love and compassion and forgiveness. All of these being things he has shown me as well.
You taught him to love unconditionally, to forgive, to be vulnerable and to show emotion even though he is a man. You did all of these amazing things preparing him for the life to come. You did all of these being a good mother. I couldn't thank you enough for all of it.
But, most importantly, thank you for sharing. For opening up your arms and life to me. You let me in and treated me like I belong. Thank you for letting me spend all the time i can with your son, and with your family. For giving me a home away from home. You will never truly know the impact you have made on me, through your son and through being you.
