This is an article intended to motivate the average person to do greater. What more fitting way to find inspiration than through a few famous Grateful Dead lyrics?

1. “Without love in the dream, it will never come true.”

Song: "Help On the Way"

We get caught up in our everyday, boring lives and forget what our original motivation was. Take time to recollect your original passion and light a fire within yourself. Let your passion be your motivation and let your motivation be the fuel for your everyday tasks.

2. “If you plant ice, you’re gonna harvest wind.”

Song: "Franklin's Tower"

Do you ever find yourself waking up in a bad mood for no reason at all? Oftentimes when this happens, our days are just crap. If we choose to be happy, bad things tend to seem a little less ‘bad’. Try to perform random acts of kindness and pay it forward. When we spread happiness, we receive happiness; however, this also works vice versa.

3. “You just gotta poke around.”

Song: "Shakedown Street"

Although an odd lyric from the famous band, it arguably holds the most value. Humans are creatures of habit. It is because of this that sometimes we get stuck in a rut and can’t get out. That’s when I like to remember this lyric. When life becomes prosaic and boring, don’t forget to "poke around." Think outside the box. Do things you wouldn’t normally do. Say "yes" to new adventures.

4. “Every silver lining’s got a touch of grey.”

Song: "Touch of Grey"

Throughout the entire year, there will inevitably be some sadness and pain. Every silver lining will indeed have a touch of grey and this is unavoidable. But, try your best to get through it. Your obstacles will make you stronger and there will, without a doubt, be sunlight after the storm.

5. “Nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile.”

Song: "He's Gone"

Last but certainly not least, do not forget to smile. Smiling is contagious. Even when things aren’t going one hundred percent your way, show the world your pearly whites and inspire happiness amongst others.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
