For some, cousins are the people you only see at Christmas. I can't imagine that. My cousin is my BEST friend. You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family. Luckily enough, I got stuck with someone I'm so grateful to call my best friend, too.
1. You grew up together, so you already know everything that's happened in each others' lives.
You were there for it all: first kiss, embarrassing moments, losing friends. You never have to fill each other in.
2. You don't have to be introduced to the family.
They already know how crazy grandpa is, or that you should never bring up politics in front of Uncle Chris.
3. You spend every holiday together.
Most friends can't spend holidays together because they'll be busy spending time with their own families. You are family, so you'll always be spending special occasions together.
4. You've basically been together since the womb, so you can finish each others' sentences.

5. Sometimes you can just look at each other and know what the other person means.
It's almost like you're on the same wavelength. THE wave, maybe.
6. You both share an unconditional love for food.
Growing up, you've had your share of making messes in the kitchen together. You both understand that food is important and no sleepover is complete without that midnight snack.
7. You have your own personal cheerleader.
Because you've been together so long, you're not afraid to tell it like it is. If that dress just isn't working on you, you'll hear it. But if it is, you won't hear the end of it.
8. You're together so much people mistake you for siblings.
Sometimes even as significant others. We're basically dating. And we might as well be siblings. So yes. We are.
9. You've already planned your futures together.
And you already know it involves your kids being BFFS, too.
10. You bring out the child in each other.
You do stupid things together and laugh until you pee.
11. But you know you can have a serious conversation, and always get good advice.
