Mississippi State Football, You Are A Let Down

But it isn't anyone's fault, we just need a change.

Mississippi State Football, You Are A Let Down

Currently, 5/3 and 4th in SEC West, to me still a disappointment.

You can have potential all day long, but potential is pointless when players should be producing. Overall, this is not completely in the hands of Coach Moorhead or even Nick Fitzgerald. Sure, anyone can put blame on them and I mean, yeah, if the shoe fits they can wear it, but the honest truth is this team is just not where it once was.

At the beginning of the season, this year's team and brand new coach were showing so much potential and everyone had faith that we would be a standout team. Even now as the season is started to close up, we still show promise, but don't you think that if a team is showing potential it should grow rather than have its ups and downs?

Yes, every team has ups and downs but no team should ever have its fans literally chanting for a replacement quarterback.

This 2018 football season has been the biggest upset in our football history. Not because of the final score or the records or the interceptions, but because absolutely nothing has been produced from this year except one record. Not only that but the record went to a player who went from being talked about for a potential Heisman to literally being booed off the field game after game.

A football team can have wins and losses and records, but they are only as good as their fanbase and let me tell you, the majority of this one is disappointed. How many football teams have not just a student section, but entire stadium chanting for their starting quarterback to be taken out of the game? It is crazy that after these years with the same inconsistent quarterback it took this one season for a whole fanbase to boo him.

But here is the truth, Nick has done his time - whether he did it well or not is a different story. It is time for a change. It's time for our players to be switched out and for our new coach to spend time on the people who are about to be starting, even if they only start for one season. It is time to invest energy into the people with potential so that they can produce. Coach Moorhead should stop giving his energy to players (yes, multiple) who are not giving this fanbase something to believe in.

Mississippi State has players who could be some of the greatest football players to come from this university, it is time to give them the chance or let them leave.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
