I am the person that clogs your mind

I am the thought that stops all time

I am the thing that will kill your mom

Or make it so that you can't go to your prom

I am the disorder that no one quite understands

I am society's most least favorite fan

I am the bully that will only whisper

Or scream and try to murder your sister

I am the thought that will bring more than one tear

I will bring out your all-time biggest of fears

I am the cause of all of your stressing

Because you can't stop Depression

But you can fight it

You can prevent this disease from overtaking the nation

Believe what you want but I promise this isn't fiction

And by God, I want to see my brother have children

Because this disease impacts over three-hundred million

These people have absolutely nowhere to hide

As this disease is not only hidden inside

They will try ever so hard to resist

From the decision to go and leave marks on their wrists

I say to all who feel they are at the rear

If you really do want to give less fear

Educate those who don't know the burdens that are carried

Because I pray every day I see my sister get married;
