Everyone feels a little down once in awhile, but with these small lifestyle choices, your self-esteem will be boosted like a pro. It's been proven that having a higher self-esteem leads to healthier relationships and even improves physical health. So take a moment to incorporate the following into your daily routine:

1. Exercise

This can especially be a tough one, but it is the best confidence booster. If you hate the gym, try going to a class! Most gyms offer a variety of classes such as zumba or spin. Being active can be fun and leave you feeling great throughout the day. Walking on the treadmill while watching Netflix on your phone burns more calories than doing nothing. You can even just dance around in your room to some Fergilicious to incorporate more cardio.

2. Drink Water

Stay hydrated. It's so simple but drinking water can often be forgotten. Next time you're at a restaurant get lemon water instead of soda, it will make a difference! It's also nice to always have a water bottle in hand and drink multiple cups throughout the day. You can't go wrong with this one. Water will leave you with glowing skin, more energy, and you need it to stay alive so um ya, drink it.

3. Get Sleep

You would be surprised how much sleep can alter our mood. Nobody is happiest when they're tired. Beauty sleep is a real thing and everyone needs it. You'll wake up happier leaving you with a better start to the day. Your eyes won't have dark circles and you won't just be waiting to get in bed.

4. Pamper Yourself

Nothing feels better than getting a massage, buying new clothes, and anything that involves spoiling yourself! It's nice to spend a little extra money to make yourself feel good. Even just taking a bath with a bath bomb and using a face mask can leave you more confident than before.

5. Dress to Impress (yourself)

If you aren't comfortable in an outfit your self-esteem is going to be rock bottom. Dressing in what makes you happy is all that matters. Whether you rock sweat-pants or stilettos, dress for yourself! At the end of the day, nobody cares what you are wearing but you.

6. Smile

Looking confident on the outside will leave you feeling confident on the inside. So smile, the only person who can let you feel down is you. The way you perceive yourself is more important than the way others perceive you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
