Losing Someone You Thought Would Be There Forever
Eliara

Have you ever had a special someone, anyone, that you imagined being in your life forever...or at least what you thought would be forever? If so, you have come to the right place. What is forever anyway? In your younger years, you imagine that special person being there and experiencing life with you: life after school/college, being there when you finally start your future career that you have been working extremely hard for, attending your wedding, or even being a part of your wedding, being there to experience the start of a family of your own, watching you grow mentally and physically, etc. You plan out your life, and you picture that special someone in it because they mean that much to you. They mean the world to you, they mean everything. You imagine them being there every step of the way. You work hard for yourself as well as for them because you want to be successful and be the best that you can be for the both of you. You plan out your life in hopes of them being in it "forever." But in reality..nothing is forever.

Sometimes, that special someone leaves you; they leave you and you are broken into millions of pieces. Your heart feels so heavy and you feel like there is a piece of you that is missing, because there is. That special person you pictured in your life forever is gone. You pass by their house and it brings back thousands of cherished memories. You go to the restaurant that you guys used to eat at and all of the sudden, you just lose your appetite. Parties and gatherings with people who share the same love for them as you do just are not the same anymore. Your special someone is not there and you stare at an empty spot at the gathering just picturing them there. You glance around your room and you try to see them there. Where are they? You wait around to see if maybe they will show up and visit you. Nothing. You might get lucky and see them in your dreams. You wish with all of your heart that they could be there with you, but they are gone. You pray to God every night that they are safe and happy and you wish them the absolute best.

Thousands of memories come rushing through your head. Why did they have to leave you so soon? You thought that they would be here forever with you and could not imagine losing them. That special person, whether it be your significant other, a family member or even a friend, is gone. Soon you realize "forever" is not really forever. It may be extremely difficult and you may feel like you can not get through it, but you can. You can do it. You can get through this tough loss of yours. You have to lift your chin up, stay strong and remember who you are. Though they are gone, sometimes they can never be forgotten. Other times, they can (if you want them to be). It will all get better, it is just a matter of time. But everything happens for a reason, right? God does not give you something you can not handle and this is something that you can. God is there for you and for all and that is something that is promised to be forever: for all future time; for always.

In loving memory of my perfect and beloved grandmother: my special someone, Maria Le Thi Ly. Thinking of and missing you every second of the day.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
