Live Your Life, Lose The Priorities

It’s time we start defining what we do instead of letting what we do defining us!

Live Your Life, Lose The Priorities
Quicksandala

Every day it's one thing after another, your time taken, your calendar filled, and maybe even overflowing. The hours of our day quickly taken over one event at a time. Then before you know it you're so busy you don't have time for yourself or for what you love. Personally, I've noticed this a lot lately. Whether it be because my job, college prep, responsibilities at home and planning events with friends, etc... Now I'm left wondering where’d the time go? How do I decide one thing or another?

Good questions! I for one see that as young adults or teenagers many of us are surrounded by multiple things vying for our attention. The problem, choosing which ones actually get it. In all truthfulness, I'm here to sympathize with all of you because I get it. The struggle to set priorities is very real. We practically have to choose every day what we see as more important than the other. I think making choices is great and part of growing up, it teaches responsibility. However, having to choose each moment and how you spend it based on importance or necessity seems frankly, kind of nuts.

I believe it was never meant to be like that. We were never meant to have so much happened that we had to rank things in order of how much we care or how much we wanna do it. Yes, people have always had to be smart with their time. Look back twenty years ago to now, the only thing that has changed is a number of things calling our name. The days haven’t gotten any longer and life hasn’t gotten any better when it comes to finding the open time. My solution, disconnect from the busyness of it all.

Break that busy cycle, even for just a day or a couple hours. Time is meant to be used enjoying the life we've been given. We all have tasks and responsibilities to a degree but life is meant to be fun and include crazy adventures sometimes. Don't create so many priorities that you lose sight of the most important one, yourself!

Life is chaotic we all know that. Put some brakes on because we shouldn’t be so caught up in "doing" that we forget to be relaxing. Maybe it’s time we started defining what we do instead of letting what we do define us! So from me to all of you, go have fun. Put the phone down, get off Facebook, shut down your Netflix and go do something that makes you happy! Go enjoy life to the fullest! Forget your to-do list for one day and see what the world has to offer!

Don't forget even when you get back into things you can power through them. Life is still great and enjoying every second will make it so much greater. I don't care what your job or what stuff you have to do because no matter what, I know you will all do it to the best of your ability! Let's show the world time no longer defines us but rather we define time!!

Now how about setting your first priority as relaxation! Go get some much-deserved R&R!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
