5 Times You Realized You Are A Real Life Sleeping Beauty

Look, I'm always tired, and no, coffee doesn't work for me.

I have one serious problem: I can sleep anytime and anywhere. It always felt like I had no power to keep my eyes open and felt as if someone cast me to a deep sleep at all times.

Sleeping is a crucial part of being human since without sleeping you could not function. As for me, sleeping doesn’t keep me functioning. I mean, I sleep more than I function. Here is what being a sleepy girl feels like:

1. I cannot stay awake when I am watching a movie.

My eyes are closed as soon as the movie starts. My little cousin even had to beg me not to fall asleep again since he told me that he wanted actually to see this one film with me.

I must say, the theater is too comfortable for me not to fall asleep. It is one of the many places I love to fall asleep. The temperature is cold, and the room is dark. What can top that?

2. I'm not able to stay awake late into the night.

I love my friends. Let’s start with that. Being as young as we are, we like to stay up all night doing nothing but chatter about our lives. Yeah, I can’t do that. Like Cinderella, not that I leave as soon as the bell rings, but I would pass out at my bedtime.

3. Coffee doesn’t work for me.

Not that I would not stay awake with coffee, but coffee gives me a stomachache. I had ulcers since I was young that makes me not be able to drink coffee. However, I also heard many people said that even coffee would not help them to stay awake.

4. I don't like to go to a party.

I’d 1,000 times rather to cocoon myself in my soft silky bed rather than going to a party where it is packed like sardines. I would love to go to a party once in a while, but the fact that going to party ruins my sleep pattern, I had to think twice about going to a party.

5. I can count how many hours of sleep I got.

Minimum of eight hours of sleep or else I will be cranky for the whole day, no exceptions. Not having beauty sleep at night makes me eat a little more and seems to make me feel sadder. You know it is not a great combination. I could also wake up looking like a zombie for having a little sleep.

I sometimes think that I have a superpower. I mean, I can sleep from 6 to 9 and then eat and sleep again for the rest of the day. Maybe it is a superpower. Do you know how many people have trouble sleeping? Many. And yes, I am grateful being the sleepy girl I am.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
