So it's not a secret that most people view reality TV as trashy. A lot of us refer to it as a guilty pleasure that we aren't sure is the most valuable way to be spending our time, but some shows are simply more quality-filled than others. My favorite reality show (that is way more than meets the eye) is none other than Rupaul's Drag Race. If you haven't heard of it, perhaps you've been living under a rock because Rupaul's show has taken the world by storm for the past 8 seasons, and it's continuing to inspire people everywhere. Here are some of the prime lessons I've taken away from watching these fabulous queens.

When drama comes knocking at the door, food can be a lovely topic change. I mean who doesn't love to eat? Answer: nobody.

Sometimes, all we want to do as people is take all of our clothes off and dance around in our underwear. But often times, that might just mean that we're a little too crazy (or a little too drunk) and just really need to go home and get into bed.

Don't be afraid to embrace all aspects of yourself. It doesn't matter if you're a man with a feminine side, a woman with a masculine side, or an androgynous mixture. You are all of what makes up your soul, and you have to embrace it to show the world what you're really made out of!

Life is stressful, and we are all bound to break under the pressure every once and awhile. It's important to find a way to safely release that pent-up aggression. Maybe there's a better way to do so than Thorgy stabbing a mannequin head, but I'll let you decide.

You can totally be fierce, Mama! No matter how many people may be rooting against you, your own attitude is completely within your own control. You can be the most envied one in the room and use that to your advantage!

For the love of God, be yourself. Nobody wants to be told their entire personality is a copy of another person. Example: Anyone want some Britney...I mean Derrick?

This gif of Bob the Drag Queen's mantra speaks for itself:

Because after all...

IF YOU DON'T LOVE YOURSELF, HOW IN THE HELL ARE YOU GONNA LOVE SOMEBODY ELSE? CAN I GET AN AMEN?!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
