We all struggle with expectations. It's human. And we are flawed. I often go into experiences (especially new ones) with complete expectations of how it is going to go. And 99.9999% of the time I'm 100% wrong. And yet, I still shy away from new endeavors, for the fear of being disappointed, uncomfortable, or embarrassed. And I'm pretty dang sure I'm missing out.
See, I've recently had two experiences that I was dreading the thought of. Like actually considering faking the flu to get out of. But, because I truly believe in the value of commitment, I stuck with it. And I'm SO glad I did. See both of these experiences were new, with new faces and new challenges and new opportunities. And they were both absolutely, completely, astoundingly AMAZING. They brought me new friends and new life skills. They pushed me out of my comfort zone into the feeling of actually LIVING.
So I challenge you to let go of any and all expectations, and jump into head first. I know I'm pretty happy with how that's turned out.
