A Letter To My Future Wife

Dear future wife,

I don’t know what to say, but it’s not because of the lack of things to say - rather, its because whenever I think about you so many different thoughts and emotions come to mind that I simply can’t find a place to begin. I’ll just say this: I can’t wait to meet you.

There are so many questions about you that I want answered. What do you look like? Where are you from? How will we meet? Will it be love at first sight? Have we already met? What’s your favorite color? What was your childhood like? Are you are cat or dog person? Do you play any sports? Or are you more of a book person?

It kills me that with all of this love that I have for you, you aren’t part of my life right now, but I am patiently awaiting the day when you will be. On that day I will be the man that God has picked out for you, and the one you have been searching for.

Unfortunately, right now I’m not that man, but I’m getting there. Right now I am a 19-year-old guy trying to figure out what God has in store for my life. I’m learning from my mistakes and working hard, with you in mind, on building my faith and character so that with each passing day I will become more and more like the man that God needs me to become for you. To become a leader, listener and servant to you as well as love you unconditionally.

I hope that God is working in your life the same way he is working in mine. That you trust him and that he is showing you through your relationships what a man of God looks like, and that hopefully one day you will see that man in me.

That you will discover what you like and dislike in relationships. That you are going out with your friends, living life and not defining your self by who you are dating but by who God wants you to be.

I look forward to the day where all of this hard work pays off. That on that day I will be able to stand with you and declare my love for you through every action I do and word that I say. Because you are and will always be the most important thing in the world to me.

Love,

your future husband.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
