A Letter From Cubs Fans

A reply from Cubs fans, to the people who think they have the greatest fans in baseball

A Letter From Cubs Fans

Cardinal’s fans,

You are simply wrong, when you state that you have the greatest fans in baseball. Here’s a simple reason why you are wrong.

The Chicago Cubs have the best fans in baseball. We’ve stuck by our team’s side since 1908, the last time we won a world series. From our great-great grandparents to our younger siblings, it’s a family tradition being a Cubs fan. We have never given up on our team and we never will.

We were mentioned in your article about how we come to Wrigley to ‘get drunk.’ In fact it is true that we do get drunk at our games. We enjoy America’s past time of watching the amazing game of baseball, drinking beer, and having some of the best times at the bleachers at Wrigley Field. The atmosphere all around Wrigley, includes drinking too. So, yes on top of the best fans in baseball, we’re also a rowdy one. Maybe it’s true, to a point our team does make us drink. Likewise, we too get upset when they lose and over the top happy when they win.

Here’s another reason why you are wrong. You must have talked to one of our bandwagoners, because I promise you this, every real Cub fan can name multiple Hall of Famers. Here, just to prove it, I’ll list some for you, Ernie Banks, Greg Maddox, Billy Williams, Ryno, etc. We too remember the history of our team. In 2003 the Cubs played the Marlins in a post season game. The name that comes to mind at this point in Steve Bartman (someone we hate just as much as big headed Cardinal’s fans). And in 2006 when benches cleared at U.S. Cellular when Michael Barret took that whooping shot at AJ Pierzynki’s face. Even out of season, we still remember our team. In December of 2010, when one of the greatest hall of famers, Ron Santo passed away this was a remembrance at Wrigley Field.

We don’t however just include the boys that play for our team. We include our astounding announcers. From Len Kasper all the way to Harry Caray. We love our crew, security, coaches, staff, and team.

Yes, we aren’t use to winning. Go ahead, hold that against us. But, fans that stick by their team for over 100 years without winning a championship, that’s dedication. Yes, we are good now. Yes, we will brag about our team, just like every Cardinal’s fan in the past has done. When your team is good, you have every right to brag, even Cardinals fans.

We will continue to fly our W’s this October and September. We will continue to wear our Cubbie blue. We will over crowd Wrigleyville when our team continues to win. We will continue to be the best fans in baseball for the best team in baseball.

Here’s to our phenomenal 2016 Chicago Cubs team.

Instead of downing every Cub fan there is right now for being proud of there team, how about you be a fan of baseball, instead of being a fan of winning.

Yours truly,

The greatest fans in baseball.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
