A Letter To Fitness Blender
Fitness Blender

Fitness Blender is a life-changing way of getting in better shape. Daniel and Kelli, the married couple who started it all, are excellent role models who encourage the most healthy growth possible. This letter is something I wrote to show how grateful I am for their program, but it's also something I hope others can identify with.

I hope that others might identify with the struggle, and have the courage to find somewhere to start. And let's be real here, Fitness Blender is definitely the best place for it. Kelli shared only a few months ago her own amazing transformation story, where she discusses the unhealthy habits she had before utilizing Fitness Blender's current methods to the fullest.

Healthy isn't just about using whatever methods you can to lose weight. Healthy also encompasses a mental aspect that can be just as difficult to overcome as any weight gain/loss goals. Additionally, it's not easy to go through something detrimental to your health all alone. While I can't sum up Kelli's story well enough to do it justice, I encourage anyone to check it out after this! Here's to setting health goals and eating real food to become the stronger person you were meant to be.

Dear Kelli,

For me, the most heartwarming part of your story is how you mentioned that Daniel was such a supportive and encouraging partner while you were struggling, even though he may not have realized that you were struggling at the time. It can be very difficult to set yourself on the track to a healthy life, but being alone makes it even harder.

When I was in high school, I became obsessed with exercise and limiting calories. Some days, I'd try not to go over 1,000 calories, but only 200 more was my goal every day. There came a point in time around senior year in high school that I found one of your videos. At first, I was only into it for a kick butt workout. Your videos can be tough! But as I began to listen to the positive messages that you always reinforce, I began to treat myself better.

Calorie counting has been out the window for about three/four years. However, the most shocking thing that happened to me after I began my own path to a healthy life was when I admitted to my parents that I had been so irritable, so against eating certain foods, and so tired during my last couple years of high school because I'd been trying to eat around 1,200 or fewer calories each day. Their response was a shocking, "Oh, well that's okay. You're short so it shouldn't matter that much." Something very similar to that effect. I was appalled that my parents could even suggest that so few calories could be okay, even if I am 5'1".

It opened my eyes to just how distorted people view an "acceptable" number of calories depending on height alone. Because even though I was living, I hardly remember feeling good on any of the days that I treated myself in such a horrible manner. So, nowadays, I hope that my healthy habits can inspire my sister. I have five younger siblings who have looked up to me all my life, but I particularly worry about my only sister. She's 14 now, and I'm as aware as I can be about her opinion of herself. She's too young to start worrying about her weight, because now, she is a healthy, funny, charming person. Her kindness is something I want to help her keep, and if she decides to start working out, I want to be the one to help her through it.

Once again, having somebody there to support you can make all the difference when your habits become poor, and you want to make them good again. For me, I have to thank you guys with all my heart for being the support I needed only a handful of years ago. I'm 20 now, and I will continue to use your programs and mention you to anyone curious about my routine because you are an inspirational team. From your advice to your support, and now, for acknowledging how the weight loss struggle is real for all of us. But together, we can move forward. Together, we can teach others to live healthy, active lives, without the need for habits that only destroy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
