Dear New College Best Friend,
Coming into college, I did not think I would find someone like you. Having you as my best friend here at college has been an answer to prayer. You are my go-to for any activity from going on impromptu road trips to new places or just hanging out in your dorm talking about what crazy things happened that day. I know you will always be down to take on any fun new twist life throws our way, and for that I am extremely thankful.
Going on spur-of-the-moment adventures with you is my favorite activity. There is something about road trips that bring people closer, even if they can't agree on what type of music to listen to.
I was desperately in need of a friend who is genuinely down to earth, kindhearted, and compassionate. Most importantly, I needed a friend who would tell me when I look ridiculous.
You are all these things and so much more.
In the short time we have known each other, we've laughed, we've cried, and we've become closer than I ever expected. Being your best friend has been the peak of my college experience. Even on my worst days, you are always there for me to vent to and encourage me in a way only you could. I wouldn't have gotten through those times without you and of course Whataburger.
There is not much that I enjoy more than our often late night fast food runs. Whether we go as a break from our studies or to binge eat after a tough day, I seriously enjoy chowing down with you.
I have never met anyone who cares so much about me, and I have a feeling I will never meet anyone who loves me as much as you love me.
If we are being honest, the feeling is 100% mutual.
College without you would not be the same. When I say I can't imagine life without you, I actually mean I CAN'T IMAGINE IT WITHOUT YOU.
Not only are you my best friend, you are my jam session buddy, my forever favorite day date, and my parking-lot dance party partner. Looking back I wonder how many people witnessed all the embarrassingly funny situations we got ourselves into. Super cringe-worthy I know.
You have accepted me for me since day 1, which seems so rare these days. You not only want to know my good side but also my bad and ugly sides, and that is genuine friendship to me.
I will always thank God for our friendship.
You changed my view of college from a lonely place to the place I will always remember as the setting of our amazing friendship. When I first came to campus, I didn't expect a friend like you, but now that I have you, I can't imagine my life without.
