I don't usually touch on politics socially.
This presidential election for the 45th President of the United States of America is one of the most controversial and sensitive topics floating around right now. Where we had millions of Hillary supporters and Millions of Trump supporters voting in anticipation of the new POTUS. In the end, the 45th President of the United States of America is Donald Trump. This is a headline many people feared, many people hoped for, and many people hate. During campaigning Trump was well known for his racism, degradation of women, and much much more, while Hillary was known for leaking national security information and her lies.
The morning of November 9th was silent. The result being of the feeling of hopelessness of the democratic party due to the election of our new POTUS. But it would've been just the same if Hillary had won to the other party.
But this is not the time to fear. This is not the time to riot. This is not the time to hate.
We must remind ourselves that we are Americans, and as Americans we posses many rights and privileges that millions have died to gain. That our constitutional rights will not be taken from us, and that our freedom will not be taken either. To be able to put our faith and trust into our POTUS in order to feel safe within our countries boarders.
But also- as Americans, we all have the right to voice our opinions on sensitive topics, views, and ideas. As Americans we need to be kind to each other, and spread kindness instead of hate. We need to be able to put faith and trust into our neighbors and peers that when we step out of our homes during the night or day, we will all return home safely. That one President will not send us into a spiral of fear, but into a band of compassion and unity. That our differences, no matter our political views, should be set aside in order to promote peace. To be able to use our voices to cause a chain reaction of peace and understanding instead of violence.
That we should teach our children to love, not hate, to treat each other with kindness and equality, to never lie, and to never loose hope. Our POTUS can show them and the rest of the world their ignorance and hatred towards certain populations and groups, how their lies and schemes can get them places, but we can show them that their behavior is not tolerable.
If you believe in the new POTUS, kudos to you, but please, do not rub it in peoples faces. Do not promote hate upon those who view things differently than you.
Many of us believe that we have taken ten steps back instead of ten steps forward, however it is up to The People of The United States to progress and move forward.
We the People of the United States of America, can make a difference together, but only if we stand together.
If you did not vote, you have no right to argue. If you voted for Harambe, or some other crazy write in as a joke, you have no right to argue.
If you fear hate, sexism, discrimination, etc., do not give up hope. Fight for it. Do not fear, do not feel hopeless, but instead stand up and speak for what you believe in, no matter what your party is. Now is the time to fight for your voice to be heard.
As a minority I will not cower, as a female I will not be pushed down and shut up, and as a citizen I will not be torn down. I will promote kindness, humanism, and knowledge towards the various groups that live among me. I will not hate.
President Obama in response to Trumps victory states that, " No matter what happens, ' the sun will rise in the morning' ".
So whether or not your views, religion, race, sexual preference, etc., are different then the persons next to you, do not answer them with spite. If someone displays an act of hate towards you or someone else, take the higher road, and educate those around you. Without understanding, we will not move forward. Without standing together, we will fall.
To those who voted for Trump, I do not hate you or dislike you. To those who voted for Hillary, I do not hate you or dislike you.
You can go ahead and unfriend me, hate me, or leave vulgar comments for writing this. But I will promote kindness and acceptance in this hour, feel free to join me.
God Bless America. God Bless Us All.
