You know those people who just make you feel good? When they're around they light up your day and allow you to be completely you. They don't judge you for anything because they're a little crazy too...and they love you a little bit. These are your best friends.
When you fall down, they may fall on the ground laughing at you, but they'll help you up after a little while. They bring you frosties when you get your wisdom teeth taken out. They let you have the aux cord. When you get awkward around a guy, they hop in and embarrass themselves too. They love to get Sonic tater tots, gas station slushies, and chocolate chip waffles from WaHo at midnight with you for no reason. They don't screenshot your terrifyingly ugly Snapchats and instead send one back. They love to Facetime with you while you pack for vacations, or just for fun. You talk for hours whenever you get on the phone. When something happens to you, good or bad, they're the first ones there. No matter how far the drive, they will be there. They know the right things to say, always. They come over to see you randomly, and then proceed to eat all of the food in your kitchen. Don't kid yourself and think that's annoying. If you're like me, you stock the kitchen with food your friends like too. They're always honest with you, and you're always honest with them. They will tell you if that outfit is heinous, if that guy is not good enough, or even if your makeup looks bad. When you strike the weirdest dance move or try your best to Whip/Nae Nae in public, they laugh and do it too.
There's a quote from "Grey's Anatomy" that can describe them perfectly: "You're my soulmate, and Derek is the love of my life." Your best friends are like your soulmates. You can't imagine who you'd be without them. They're your people. They've pushed you, they've picked you up when no one else could, they'll stand up for you no matter what, and they'll never leave you. You may be going off to college away from them, but they'll always be there for you, and you for them. When you find those soulmate friends, you know they can't be replaced. These are the girls who will stand beside you in your wedding, who will be your children's' godparents, who will race you up and down the halls of your nursing home.
These best friends are forever, no matter what. So thank you, best friends. I know we're going to be apart sometimes. I know college may separate us, and we will probably make a few new friends too, but our friendship can never be replaced. My heart absolutely breaks when I think about us leaving each other in a couple of weeks. I can't tell you how much you mean to me. What I can tell you though, is that I will always be here for y'all. Y'all are my people!
