Here's A Break, Just For You!

Stop! You're Working Too Hard!

Let's face it, we all have those weeks we spend countless hours of what should be dedicated to work/homework/keeping living spaces sanitary to the Emperor of Nothingness- also known as the Great Procrastinator, Overlord of the Unmotivated and In Denial. While we do our best to run the good race, there are some times even the best of us can't quite find the ingredients to the motivation recipe by great-grandma Git-Er-Done. Most of the time, those urges of nope have to be circumnavigated and perseverance through discipline must be endeavored.

But those days when procrastination can be indulged, I am often first in line to savor the couch-potato lifestyle. So for those who are feeling down, having a rough day, or just need a mental brain-break from the snowball of the week, this one's for you. Remember, it's important to take a break if you're doing a lot! It's definitely easy to get swept up in work, especially if you have a lot to do. I decided to help you out if you need some more clues! Here are a few gifs to help us laugh about the importance of (occasional and moderated) procrastination.

1. Welcome to...

2. What happens when you haven't procrastinated in a long time

3. If you haven't had a long enough break and someone tries to tell you to get back to work

I'm a Whovian, of course I have to put a Doctor up here.

4. Try all week, Mabel

5. Sometimes going to a park to procrastinate is healthy too

Y'know, that thing called fresh air you never get!

6. Because, let's face it, sometimes you have so much work you just get -

But no using firearms to interior decorate, please. Sherlock is a sociopath and doesn't understand these principles. The author of this article understands you probably do.

7. "I will do my homework..."

8. But let's face it, you don't want to put yourself in this position

9. Let's face it, you know the pain is coming

Although Bane will reassure you...?

10. You'll probably try reasoning with your grade on your next test

11. But in the end, you'll eventually get overwhelmed and need another rest

Whether you're stressed, overwhelmed, or just need a break from the norm, don't forget to grant yourself a break! I'd recommend a walk, a good cup of tea, or a funny face competition with a good friend other than another internet page, but do what you've got to do!

Cheers!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
