Welcome to the 21st century. Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram dominate our lives.
Pictures of beautiful women with seemingly flawless bodies fill our explore pages. Videos of talented singers and dancers pop up on our screens as we scroll through our Twitter feed. Countless girl's standing at just the right angle to get that perfect selfie for their Snapchat stories.
These are just a few of the things that we experience that make us feel inferior to other women around us. Body and self-confidence issues are things all women experience, now what you do with those experiences is what truly makes the difference.
The first step in realizing you are enough and not worrying about things.
Take Matthew 6:25-27, " Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life."
This verse outlines a mindset everyone needs to have. By understanding that the Lord has a plan for us that is so perfect and elaborate, many of the anxieties caused by comparison will be lifted off of our shoulders. By realizing that, you instantly can become a much more confident and carefree person.
Self-worth is a tricky subject. A lot of people feel they are not worthy of love or friendships when in reality, you are worth so much more than that.
You are created in such a unique and beautiful way. No one on this earth looks like you, talks like you, or thinks like you. That's pretty amazing when you think about it.
A lot of times we get caught looking for our self-worth in the wrong places. These places can be things like social media likes or boys or even our friends.
Most of the time, we cant find ourselves and our worth in those places so we are left feeling worthless. Striving to find our worth in earthly things is not going to satisfy that desire.
You are worth more than the size of your waist or the color of your hair or the pigment of your skin. You are wonderfully and beautifully made and no one can take that way from you.
