Drinking Kombucha Is Not A Crime

It is time to put this debate to rest.

I, like many people, enjoy drinking Kombucha. I came upon this drink last year when I began to look for ways to replace soda in my diet. There is a small amount of alcohol in the drink due to fermentation (turn up.) and it comes in a variety of unique flavors. Although some brands are much better than others, it is still one of my favorite drinks.

It is a probiotic and it is healthy. I am getting SICK and TIRED of being told how disgusting this drink is. I am often being told it is crap by the same people who bash beer cans into their head and are probably named Chad.

They also think the taste is weird due to its unconventional flavors and preparation. Although I have had one poor experience with this drink, I still like it due to the other varieties that are being made.

I have one thing to say to the haters of Kombucha;

LEAVE US IN PEACE TO DRINK OUR FERMENTED PROBIOTICS. IF WE LIKE TO DRINK IT, WE CAN DRINK IT FREELY.

Now that I have therapeutically typed that in all caps, let's continue.

We live in a world where people are often chastised for the smallest of things. Take drinking La Croix, for example, you're a monster if you find this drink enjoyable. (Which I also do, so come at me.)

Often the unconventional is considered to be strange and unwelcome. However, I like to embrace different. I like to try new things and expand my taste pallet. Although I have some boundaries in what I will or will not eat, kombucha is something I genuinely like. It has helped me cut soda out of my diet and it has helped with my own health.

Although it is a unique and unconventional drink, leave the drinkers of it be. We are minding our business while we try to healthy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
