There is always that one friend that is just there. It sucks, I know. I have been there before.
Despite how I may sound like a curmudgeon, this happens. Lately, you get those feelings where it seems like all you are there for is to be their bank account, or their counselor.
When those feelings of feeling second best surround you, you feel as if that you are not a priority in that person's life. You may be a friend to someone no matter how much you are there for someone and you are the person they run to if they need help, or need something from you.
You barely receive a phone call or a text. You are the person that has to initiate the conversation and you always feel like you are just floating in the group. You are not the "gorgeous one" or the brainy one, or you don't feel talented. You are just there... floating like a ghost no one can see.
You can help people, yet you are still the butt of their jokes or there is something you do wrong no matter the help you give. All you ask is a little appreciation or a call or a text.
It gets more and more sickening as you get older. You start to realize that no one will be there to sweep you off your feet or give you a call or a text. You feel like a nobody.
You are nobody's best friend
You are no one's special someone.
Compared to others, you are just there. A leaf in the breeze. The more it happens, the more you just roll your eyes with your hands in your pockets and just walk away. Of course, no one notices you are gone. So you just drive off, brush away some fallen tears and just go home, watch Netflix and grab some Pringles and try to forget about it.
It's not till morning, you get a text asking "where did you go? You were my ride"
"Find your own damn ride" Is what you say, but then you just don't text back.
No one asks what's wrong, they just move away from you and just turn away.
Okay,I'm sure I made my point clear, but for those people who are "that one friend", don't sit there and think that is all you are capable of. You are confident, a great person and make someone's day.
Be your own kind of beautiful and separate yourselves from the negativity.
Let this depressing article be a lesson to you all! Don't be anyone's doormat!
