Recently, you may have seen a segment of "Last Week Tonight" with John Oliver on the topic of none other than Donald Trump. The clip, which has reached almost 23 million views, is 22 minutes of comedian John Oliver hilariously and rightly attacking GOP candidate Donald Trump. Oliver begins by equating Trump to America's back mole—"it may have seemed harmless a year ago, but now that it's gotten frighteningly bigger, it is no longer wise to ignore it." Highlights of the rest of the segment include Trump's false claims that he has been repeatedly invited to Oliver's show and a campaign to make "Make Donald Drumpf again." In an entertaining manner, Oliver is able to capture a viewer's attention while taking stands on important current events issues. Oliver has repeatedly said that he does not consider himself to be a journalist—he is rather a comedian who "makes jokes about the news." However, no matter how he identifies himself, Oliver has become an important voice on current events. Maybe his humor is not your cup of tea or your every value doesn't align with his, but Oliver sheds light on key issues facing society today.
