Joe Biden, Please Run For President

And no, it's not just a "bunch of malarkey."

Listen, Hillary, we've got to talk.

Now, you know I've always loved you. As a girl in living in a white male-dominated world, you were a shining beacon of feminism in politics. You inspired me with your words and your pantsuits. You taught me what "Girl Power" meant beyond the Cheetah Girls' song. We have history, you and me, so don't take this the wrong way. I just can't stand by you any longer. I can't defend you while you do "The Whip" and "Nae-nae" to romance black voters. No, please don't cry, Hill. It's not you, it's me. Well, maybe it is you (and your emails.)

But Bernie, don't get excited.

I think your ideas are wonderfully progressive, and I never dreamed I'd say that to an old white guy. I really think 'Murica needs a healthy dose of socialism, but honestly (and I know how much you value honesty), you're a bit too optimistic for me. I mean, it's the GOP-dominated House and Senate. If John Boehner was considered too "moderate" for the conservative party, needless to say, your low-key socialist bills will pass the legislature when pigs fly. And I hate to break it to you, but Dick Cheney has a heart condition and won't be flying anytime soon. C'mon, Bernie.

So, as a registered Democrat, the question is obvious: who can I vote for? Yeah, they're are those three others guy whose names no one can remember, (Mark? Sam? Bob?) but, in rare agreement with media representation (or lack thereof,) they're all irrelevant.

So as much as a loathe every single GOP candidate for president (I'm talking to you, Carly,) I don't love anyone in my home team either. I'm not rooting for anyone.

But there is one man.

A man who currently has an open spot for the Democratic Debate until Oct. 16. A man who has an open spot in my heart.

Good ole Joe.

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride--Mr. Vice President.

I don't want you to just be my VP anymore. I want you as my commander. My commander in chief.

Now, I know some of you might think my love for Mr. Biden is misguided. Some may accuse me of loving him only for his party affiliation. Some may even call him the "Trump of the Democratic Party." And I call you all LIARS.

It's more than mere politics that convinces me he'd be more than a fabulous candidate for prez. So I'm giving you a few (slightly non-partisan) reasons why Joe is our guy. I just know it.

He knows the system.

Say what you want about is blurts or outburst, or the fact that his facial expressions during speeches are so fantastic. He plays the comic, and he's happy to do so. But underneath that goofy Disney character is a political mastermind.

He's had more years of experience in politics than most of us have been alive, and has not had terrible track record in scandal. Yes, many dismiss him as "silly," but think about what that would do for our foreign relations. Needless to say, our temperament with most of our international affairs have been high-stakes and far less than friendly. Just watch the news, please.

Perhaps I'm biased because my parents love him and I find his and Pres. Obama's bromance endearing, but I'm telling you, he is the face of our nation, albeit a bit wrinkly.

Joe has this sort of disarming good humor about him that's not just engaging but well-versed. He knows just what to say to get his message across, loud and clear, and the skill to get what he wants, unless you count his failed presidential runs in 1988 and 2008.

But this time.

This time, it'll be different.

I'm eligible to vote now.

And I want to cast my ballot for Joe.

On a serious note, I know it's difficult. It's not an easy decision for anyone to make, especially Joe Biden.

A few weeks after winning the election against a big name Republican incumbent Delaware senator in 1972, a car accident resulted in the death of his first wife and young daughter. However, he was dissuaded from resigning and was sworn in despite this emotional turmoil.

After the recent and untimely death of his son, Biden did say that he was not at 100 percent, and that's way more than what can be expected for man in his position. It must be noted that, somehow, his humor and political savvy have not suffered.

It may be a bit corny of me to say, but that's the kind of remarkable presidential quality we need right now. We need someone who can stand and smile in the midst of turmoil and tragedy and still get a job done sufficiently, with grace and easy charm.

Perhaps I'm a little sick of all the candidates this election year, but not one candidate is speaking to me. No, not even Bernie. Not even Hill's desperate attempts to woo young voters. Have you seen her Twitter?

In a political dream, Joe would be president and maybe have Bernie at his side as Vice. Maybe we can call it the "old white guy" dream team. I'll work on the media packaging.

As for the GOP, I have no hope for you. You are, and always have been, dead to me. Unless Condeleeza Rice decides to enter the race.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
