It's Time To Thunder Up

It's that time of the year again, which means NBA basketball is back in gear. Last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder was built up to have an amazing season with the possibility of heading to the finals, but that opinion has vastly disappeared. With many injuries occurring throughout, the Thunder never made it to the playoffs for the 2014-2015 season. With a new season ahead, there is no doubt that this team will go far with all players back, and a new coach with them.

Last season, the Thunder was left without the reigning MVP, Kevin Durant, for almost the entire season because of complications from being diagnosed with a Jones fracture in his right foot. This caused a major lacking in how the Thunder performed because they were missing a key player all season. Now with the hype of the return of Kevin Durant, it seems that this team is ready for a championship. With the work of Durant and Russell Westbrook, it seems that this team is headed for an NBA title.

This season, the Thunder is in the hands of their new coach Billy Donovan. Although Donovan is a rookie coach, he is expected to win big in Oklahoma City. Previously, Donovan coached college basketball, and has had more wins than any other coach in the history of the Florida basketball program. While he coached the University of Florida's team, he gained them two championships and many NCAA tournament appearances. Even though he has moved on to the NBA, there is no doubt that Donovan will use his knowledge to take the Thunder far.

With the NBA preseason finished, the Oklahoma City Thunder is 5-1, only losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis. This is a great start to the season, and they are on track to playing in the 2015-2016 playoffs. With all players back and a new coach, this team is definitely hungry for an NBA Championship.
